The beginning of Staub cookware has its roots in Alsace, France in 1892. In 1974, Staub purchased a nearby cast iron plant and they began to make their own Staub cast iron cookware. Now leaders in their industry, Staub works to consistently combine new technology with traditional cast iron cookware. Francis Staub is still directly involved in designing and creating each piece of Staub cookware and bakeware. After creating a design and testing it thoroughly, each design is patented. Staub makes many products based on their rigorous standards. There are many Staub Dutch oven styles and sizes, which are useful for everything from roasting chickens to making a delicious stew. The cast-iron construction of the Staub Dutch oven allows the dish to retain and redistribute heat evenly and effectively, making it perfect for low-heat, slow cooking. Additionally, the matte enamel won't discolor, rust, or chip. The Staub vertical roaster is the ideal solution for cooking tender poultry with a crispy exterior, and the Staub grill pan is wonderful for grilling.
Other specialty pieces include the Staub teapot made from cast iron and enamel coating allowing for even heat distribution. The Staub bouillabaisse and coq au vin Dutch ovens are detailed with a stainless steel fish-shapped knob and a rooster knob on the Coq au Vin, and are perfect for taking dishes straight from the oven to the dinner table.
